WTJU Classical Library Database
This is the latest project that I worked on for the past five years. The goal is to catalogue and make available the nearly 5,000 CDs in the WTJU radio station’s classical library. Volunteer announcers use this collection to program the music for their individual shows, so having granular access to individual compositions was critical. I devised a project plan that made it possible to identify an external, philanthropic organization to fund the work. The main phase of retrospective conversion has been completed and it encompasses over 70,000 individual tracks that comprise over 30,000 compositions. Now announcers have access to much of the corpus of classical music along with the ability to search by composer, artist, label, composition--even track times for each composition.
